I am one of those people who mix a highlighter or bronzer to body lotion for beautiful shiny legs when I wear shorts or dresses. I recently spotted shimmering body lotion from Essence and decided to give it a try. Today’s review is all about Essence Scented Shimmering Body Lotion. Read on to know more.

My Experience with Essence Scented Shimmering Body Lotion:

The product comes in a light pink tube package with a flip cap. The product comes unsealed like any other products from Essence. There are golden designs on the tube. There is basic information on the back of the tube and everything else you need to look to their website. The product closes well and is travel-friendly.

The shimmering lotion is white in color and is thick. It has very light golden shimmers which can be seen only when you rub it onto the skin. When I first pressed the lotion, it comes out with so much difficulty! I guess the consistency and the tube do not go very well with each other. Also, the hole has a ridge and due to which some of the lotion gets stuck into it and dries. It smells floral and pleasant, but it stays for only a few minutes.

The lotion when applied onto the skin gets absorbed easily. It has golden shimmer but it feels like the gold shade we use during Holi celebrations! The shimmers do spread around to give a shiny effect on the skin. The shimmers do not get absorbed instantly and they stay for around 4 hours and after which they completely disappear. I have no idea where they do but, they do not stick onto your clothes which is great. The product doesn’t have moisturization property.

I noticed that it stays for around 2 hours and I start feeling the dryness and the need to moisturize. Thus, it must be applied to well moisturized skin so that this serves only the purpose of adding a shimmer. The golden shimmer is not visible in the shade but if you go out and with sunlight you surely will have the legs of a goddess. It feels very natural and my legs felt like they were sun kissed. You need to use a lot of product to get the desired effect.

While I absolutely love the effect, I am a bit skeptical about the shimmer they use. Since they get absorbed onto the skin, it makes me wonder if they are safe. I would use this lotion only on the days I go out and when I go out and I really need beautiful legs if not, I wouldn’t want to apply something to by body that would be toxic. Overall, it is just a shimmery lotion and you cannot get anything else out of it. So, summing up.

Pros of Essence Scented Shimmering Body Lotion:

• Travel-friendly
• Affordable.
• Creates sun kissed look.
• Adds radiance to the skin.
• The shimmers do not stick onto the clothes
• Makes skin a little soft.

Cons of Essence Scented Shimmering Body Lotion:

• No moisturization property.
• A normal cream with shimmers.
• The shimmers could be toxic.
• No moisturizing power.
• Makes skin very dry within 1-2 hours if not applied over a lotion.
