My Experience with Lakme Absolute Kohl Ultimate Kajal Prussian Blue:
Packaging:
The kohl kajal itself is a color-coded crayon with a black cap. On the other side, it has a nice long rubber smudger that helps to blend the kajal. The smudger has a nice pointed shape and is quite strong as well as flexible; it blends the kajal well but removes some product from the eyes. Somehow, it’s not the best smudger around. I faced some difficulties while using it and it’s not very gentle either. A sponge blender would work better than this. It is a sharpenable pencil but no sharpener has been provided with the pencil. Overall, the pencil looks nice and is so easy to carry around.
Shade:
The shade ‘Prussian Blue’ is a beautiful teal blue shade that looks stunning on the eyes. It’s a very wearable color and looks bold on the eyes. The shade has the perfect balance of blue and green, which makes it a pretty shade and I love the pigmentation too. The shade is pretty pigmented and one to two swipes give the true color pay off on the eyes. It has finely milled shimmer particles and they make it more beautiful. I can create nice trendy looks with the shade. It’s a good shade for creating blue smoky eyes.
Texture and Quality:
This kajal has a super soft and creamy texture that glides well. It goes on smoothly even on the waterline – without any tugging. I love this formula and I can blend it or smudge it to get a nice smoky look. But, once it settles down, it doesn’t smudge or transfer much.
It sets pretty quickly, but never feels patchy or dry. I can set the shade well and take my time to create that perfect wing with it. It works effortlessly and the formula gives a beautiful matte finish on the eyelids.
Drawing various types of lines on both my lash lines is pretty easy. For a sharp winged liner the tip needs to be perfect, though. Otherwise, it gives a perfect and even stoke with a single application. Also, it is a pretty smudge-proof, transfer-proof and water-proof eyeliner that adds beauty to my eyes without creating any mess.
Staying Power:
The liner lasts super long, i.e. for over 7-8 hours and it looks quite good even at the end of the day. The brand has claimed a 16-hour wear time but I never kept my liner on for that long. On my waterline, it lasts around 5 hours and then it looks faded but, obviously, it’s really a good time. The color looks a bit faded on the lower lash line after a long time but it survives well on the upper lash line.
The staying power actually depends on your skin type and weather. I have oily skin so it usually happens to me. It never settles into the fine lines or creases. I have watery eyes, so my corners look a bit faded by the end of the day or if I rub my corners, the eyeliner does transfer a bit but it never looks messy. You need a good remover to properly remove this kajal from the eyes.
Overall:
I love this shade a lot and the lasting power too. The formula is so good that I can use it easily. But I feel that it’s a bit expensive for a drugstore kajal as other brands offer the same quality at a lesser price.
