Skin Tone: Light to Medium with warm undertones
Skin Type: Combination
Hi everyone,
I am reviewing one more shade from ColourPop’s Ultra Blotted Lips range and this shade is called “Zuma.” Ultra-blotted lips come from the same family as blotted lips formula. Read on for more details on “Zuma.”
Price:
$6.00 USD for 3 gm.
Product Description:
Your favourite Malibu beach is now your favourite warm rosy mauve
Ultra-Blotted Lip is a medium coverage matte lipstick that creates a soft, diffused look. It is completely transfer-proof and long-wearing but also lightweight and comfortable. No cracking or flaking! Leaves lips smooth and fresh. Apply your Ultra Blotted Lip in a thin layer for most comfortable wear.
My Experience with ColourPop Ultra Blotted Lip Zuma:
Packaging: The packaging is a standard clear tube with holographic writing on the side with the name – ColourPop Ultra Blotted lip. The bottom of the tube specifies the name “Zuma.” The tube has a silver cap. The applicator is a standard doe-foot wand. The applicator allows me to fill in the corner of the lips easily. The product comes in a white cardboard box with the name of the product and the ingredients list. The packaging is very travel friendly and lightweight.
Texture and Application: The concept of the ultra-blotted lips is to achieve the look when you apply a lipstick and blot it with a tissue, but it will give you a super matte finish. It wouldn’t transfer onto cups like the shades from “blotted lips” formula. These lipsticks would give you “popsicle-bitten” lips. Ultra-blotted lips are like lip stains which have lightweight texture and you can wear it for a more natural look and it’s going to last for a very long time. Once the lipstick dries, it has a powdery light texture to it. There is no tugging or pulling while applying the lipstick. Even though it’s a matte lipstick, it’s not drying and is very comfortable to wear. There is no fragrance to the lipstick, which I feel is good.
Pigmentation and Coverage: The lipstick is not super pigmented. If you like a sheer wash of colour, you just swipe the lipstick once. If you want it to be more opaque, you can build the lipstick multiple times till you get the coverage. You can also wear a lip liner underneath if you want an opaque look.
Shade and Finish: The shade is described as a “rosy mauve” and it is a gorgeous mauve shade. This shade is a perfect “my lips but better” shade. This is a perfect n*de for me. This shade will suit light to medium Indian skin tones. Blotted lips gives me natural-looking, stained lips, which I love. The finish of the lipstick is matte which feels feather light powdery to touch.
Staying Power: The staying power is really good with this lipstick. It stays on for around 5 to 6 hours. This lipstick actually survives meals and fades away evenly. If you eat an oily meal, then this lipstick does fade away.
Overall, I am really happy with the colour payoff, the texture and the longevity of the lipstick. The lipstick can be easily removed with an oil-based makeup remover.
